Madonna Renewal Center-  Freeport Illinois-  Slowly but surely the Madonna Renewal Center (MRC)  website is coming to life.  A big thank you goes out to the Sisters of the  Immaculate Heart of Mary (SIHM) and all the MRC committees who have made this possible.  Because we are just getting our web up and running, we will re-present some of the articles from the past six months that were posted on other web sites in order to bring all of our supporters and readers up to date.

Some of you have participated in these events or read about or saw a video on these events presented below.  Please bear with us; in a couple of weeks all reports will be fresh and new.

The first major outreach to the Freeport community was held September 20, 2014 and was promoted as the “Come and See” event.  The Sisters wanted everyone to meet some of Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to see the future home of the Madonna Renewal Center.

Madonna Renewal Center Event Big Success

Madonna Renewal Center-    Freeport, Il –On September 20 2014 the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary held a Bratfest “come and see” event for the community in and around Freeport.

The many people who attended this event were treated to good food, camaraderie, and the music of our “Blue Nuns”.  Please watch the video below and you will see that the music was enjoyed by all and the Sisters really enjoyed sharing their musical heritage with everyone.  You can see Nuns do have fun!  The joy was evident on their smiling faces and it was also seen in the faces of everyone at the Bratfest!

This joyous event allowed the community to become better acquainted with the Sisters.  There was a display of pictures of the Sisters and their background as well as the history of the St. Francis building, from it’s very beginning.  This building will, after renovation, house and help women who are pregnant but have no help or even home during their pregnancy.  The goal of the Sisters is to restore dignity to women and help them learn to care for their child in the future.

After you watch the Bratfest video below continue reading and see the videos of our sisters marching in the local homecoming parades.

To continue to reach out to the local community, the Sisters marched in the two homecoming parades in Freeport, Il.
